The degrees in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering are offered in coordination with the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. The college also houses the School of Education. In addition to the bachelor’s degrees, students may seek minors in geoscience, physics and, pending state approval, applied statistics. Teacher licensure degrees are also available for mathematics and other disciplines in secondary education (7-12), as are bachelor’s degrees in elementary education (K-6) and middle childhood education (4-8). The college is committed to exposing students to cutting-edge ideas and methodologies, with programs and courses designed to foster independence, analytical thinking and problem-solving. Our highest priority is to prepare students for teaching, other professional work, graduate studies or medical fields. Excellence in teacher preparation through classroom instruction and extensive field experiences is also a priority – one that is ably supported by coursework with specialists from across the university.
